Reiki - The Japanese Art Of Healing
The Japanese introduced Reiki to the world and there are many who advocate its efficacy today.
It is an Alternative form of Medicine and it includes the best of other alternative medical therapies like homeopathy, naturopathy, spiritual healing, chakra balancing, crystals, auras aromatherapy and meditation. It works through a transmission of energy from the practitioner to the individual who has a medical problem.
The Reiki practitioner believes that the body, by balancing energy, can cure itself of its ills. He uses special techniques to achieve this balance in order to regenerate the body’s life force. Reiki aims at holistic healing and caters not only to the body, but also to the spirit and the mind.
Reiki translated means ‘free passage’ (rei) and ‘omnipresent life energy’ (ki). It works on the belief that energy pervades the universe. All one has to do is to channelize that energy effectively in order to free humanity of all disease.
The principle of Reiki is that the energy in the body falls into a pattern, and when diseases occur, it means that the balance of energy has been upset. Therefore, what in fact a Reiki practitioner does is to heal by restoring the balance and harmony of the life force in the body. In this, it differs from other alternative medicine practices.
The advantages of Reiki are evident in those treated. The beneficiaries are more relaxed, their energy is restored, they feel different as if their system is detoxified, they appear rejuvenated, such is their vitality, and there is an increase in the frequency at which the body vibrates.
Just as in spiritual healing, the hands of a Reiki healer play an important role in transferring energy to a patient. However, there is a difference. A spiritual healer holds his hands over a particular part of the body and sends out his strong energy to the patient who is a passive recipient.
In Reiki healing, while the Reiki practitioner holds his hands over the affected part of the body, the patient draws on the energy sufficient to cure his illness. Therefore, he is actively involved in his own healing, emphasizing the belief that the body is capable of healing itself.
The Reiki practitioner doesn’t have to touch the patient, although in some cases he might hold a part of the body, like the head for instance. For the most part, he works a few inches away from the affected area. From that distance, he is able to maneuver the energy field to get the desired result.
For those who shy away from invasive treatment, perhaps Reiki is the perfect solution to your medical problems.
